Variable Threshold Block Scenarios
Below are three scenarios that demonstrate use of the Demand-Based Minimum fields:
Example 1:
- Charge the first 450 kWh per contract kW of billing demand at 0.0400 per kWh.
- Charge all remaining consumption at 0.0353 per kWh.
The rows in the grid would be completed as follows:
| Through | Rate | Demand Type | Above | Multiplier | Other Amount |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0.0400 | Contract Demand | 0 | 450 | <blank> |
| 999,999,999 | 0.0353 | <blank> | <blank> | <blank> | <blank> |
Example 2:
- Charge 0.12555 for the first 700 kWh. If the kW of billing demand is greater than 5 kW, add 150 for each additional kW.
- Charge 0.08725 for the next 2500 kWh.
- Charge 0.07125 for the additional kWh.
The rows in the grid would be completed as follows:
| Through | Rate | Demand Type | Above | Multiplier | Other Amount |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 700 | 0.12555 | Billed Demand | 5 | 150 | <blank. |
| 2500 | 0.08725 | <blank> | <blank> | <blank> | <blank> |
| 999,999,999 | 0.07125 | <blank> | <blank> | <blank> | <blank> |
Example 3:
- Charge the first 300 kWh per kW of billing demand at 0.0420 per kWh.
- Charge all remaining consumption at 0.0262 per kWh.
The rows in the grid would be completed as follows:
| Through | Rate | Demand Type | Above | Multiplier | Other Amount |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0.0420 | Demand | 0 | 300 | <blank> |
| 999,999,999 | 0.0262 | <blank> | <blank> | <blank> | <blank> |
